What a couple of weeks! There’s much to tell, but no time to tell it now, unfortunately. I just wanted to let folks know that I am alive! I had a five day vacation and ML and I made a whirlwind tour of Galvetraz and Atlanta. Got to see a bunch of friends (although not all of them) while in TX and spent much of the time in GA. Got to see some friends there, too. But I was not able to fit one in and if she reads this she’s going to kill me! I probably deserve it, but I have not seen my Mom since I left for MI and I have a second nephew (Sam) who just celebrated his first birthday that I had not met. Actually, meeting him was really quite freaky because he looks just like I did (and my old sister too) when I (we) were that age. I was so cute! I just hope whatever happened to me doesn’t happy to Sam. :)
Unfortunately, we both got sick and we’re both now just getting over it and I have a mountain of stuff and homework to tend to, so I better get to it!

For Valentine's, ML took me to see Rennie Harris Puremovement: Facing Mekka for a surprise. I was a very interesting dance performance that was supposed to explore the pioneering of hip-hop. Moreover, ML said that it was supposed to have some relationship to post-9/11. I must admit, it was a little heavy on the art and weak on the education. I totally missed the relationship to the post-9/11. They did dance really well and it was nice to finally go inside the Power Center. Apparently no seat is more than 72 feet from the stage. I'm not sure how they measured that, but it sure was a nice theater. (Oh, and it IS attached to the power-plant on campus so it is named appropriately.)
Now that I've been all art-ed up, when a dog brings me a stick I won't just through it away. (That's from a TV commercial.)

I think ML thinks I'm too proud of myself. I installed my very first kitchen faucet today! Well, after we went back to home depot to get some 1/2 to 3/8 inch adapters and the PLUMBER'S PUTTY!!! Took me about an hour and a half with clean up. Now that I know what I'm doing I think it would take closer to 30 minutes. 15 if I actually had the right tools! (There is a funky wrench you can use to take the nuts off of the hold style faucet.) I knew I was at least as smart as a journeyman plumber. At least! Hopefully, tomorrow, I will tackle my taxes.
In the mean time, we're piecing together a little trip south for my "spring break." Well make a stop in Galveston to see the old crew and then off to Atlanta to meet my second nephew, now that he just turned one. It also occurred to me that I haven't seen my mother in two years. She probably won't recognize me without hair! Oh, and hopefully we'll put together an Emory reunion. (We used to get together every year in September when I would go home on my birthday but I haven't been back for my last two birthdays.)
Go look at the pictures of our new faucet! :-)

Clinical week(s). It's not exactly low stress: you have to perform physicals and take histories in front of physicians, you have homework and you are forced to attend class (sign-up sheets). But, every once in a while, you'll get a day off like today! I do have some homework to deal with, which I will do here shortly and I do have my first official breast exam this evening (6-7p) but I got to sleep in. And any day I can sleep in is a good day! You would think that I'd be excited about this evening's exam, but I assure you, it will be stressful!
I was going to install a new kitchen faucet today. We're both tired of trying to get under our faucet when cleaning dishes so we decided to get one of those fancy ones where the stem turns into a "free" spray handle. We got the faucet as something of an impulse buy. (No, they were not stacked up in the isle dividers at Home Depot (although that would have been funny).) So, as it turns out, I need a couple of hose adapters and, apparently, plumber's putty. I just discovered the fine world of plumber's putty last night while surfing the web. Alas, we got a few inches of snow last night and I do not feel like fighting slippery roads this morning so I'll wait for Friday to destroy the kitchen. I just hope the new faucet is the solution that we imagine it is. And before you tell me that a good dishwasher, don't! I've been trying to get ML to let me buy one and she doesn't want one! And I've nagged her so much about it that I'm pretty sure she really doesn't want one.

Ha! I just passed a BIG old GI turd out my festive buns! Had the Gi final today and it turned out to be a big one. I realized it earlier this week and started only clocking 4 hours of sleep early on so by the time the exam was here (today) I got 7 hours. I did much better too! But, now, I can't sleep. ML's asleep, but I'm not ready yet. I want to go out and PARTY!! :) ML had a really rough week with a lot of long days, so she deserves the rest. I made a little sushi dinner tonight. It was yummy. I'm trying to figure out how to make the hot-sauce that they mix in with the sushi. I got pretty close off of a recipe from the web, but it's not quite right. Just a few years of tinkering and I'm sure I'll get it!
Since I've been studying my festive buns off, I really don't have much interesting to say: other than it is normal to fart 5 to 20 times a day! I'm going to try to keep count tomorrow and see where I rank. Maybe I'll have to keep a diary for a few days and get a running average! (I know my family will be so glad to hear that I am spending so much on my medical education just I know how many farts a normal person makes in a day.) But really, I want to know if a little fart counts the same as really big one. Not that I have ever farted, myself! (In the last 5 min..oops! 10 seconds.)
Tomorrow it will get close to 50F so I plan to wash the car off. Not that it's covered in salt, because it's not. It's covered in DIRT! The dummies that plow our snow (they did a MUCH better job last year) use this scrubber thing and they dug it into the dirt and kicked it all of my car mixed with wet snow. It froze and then made the car a mess!
I know, not too interesting. But life isn't always interesting. Well, I think it is because I have no f*ing clue how I ended up where I am, and doing what I am. Who would have thought? Certainly not I. I guess part of life is discovering who you are along the way. If you're lucky. GACK! That was a little too philosophical. Sorry about that!
Think I'll go play some Splinter Cell to get me in the sleeping mood!
